Do you still remember when was the last time you bought a printer? If you ask me, we often buy printer and the last printer we currently used was bought month ago. Printer here are very cheap and we don’t buy original ink cartridge everytime we run out of ink because ink cartridge cost almost of a brand new printer. As of now we have 3 printer without ink and 1 printer that has. In my case I don’t buy new printer (by the way those 4 printers are my sister’s so all in all we have 5) instead I buy generic ink cartridge and much cheaper than original cartridge. I have not experience any problem using genetic ink cartridge as a matter of fact, I think they have more inks than the original one and can be refilled as long as the cartridge can last. My printer is a Canon Bubblejet printer and I only use canon inkjet cartridge for almost 3 years.
